Services

Three kinds of work, each with a different set of people in the room.

Two orange armchairs and a small table under pendant lamps in a room with a peach accent wall

Couples therapy

For two partners who want to understand the pattern between them. Both of you attend. Sessions run about 80 minutes, in the office or by video, and early on I may ask to meet each of you alone once so each voice is heard. We name the argument, the silence or the distance as a pattern that has taken hold of you both, and practice meeting it as a team. I set the pace with you, and how often we meet is decided together.

  • Who attends: both partners

  • Method: narrative couples therapy

  • Not a way to decide who is right

A bright living room with a white sofa, mustard cushions, plants and a tall gold mirror

Premarital counseling

For two people planning to marry or to share a home. You come as a pair, from the start. We talk through money, family, work, children, faith and the things you have been meaning to say, so the large questions are asked out loud while there is time to think. I do not give a verdict on whether you should marry; that stays yours. How long we work is decided together.

  • Who attends: both partners

  • Method: narrative couples therapy, with guided conversations

  • Not a test, and not a verdict on your relationship

Recovering trust

For partners rebuilding after a broken promise, a secret or an affair. Both of you attend the sessions together, after a first visit with each of you alone so each can say what is hard to say in front of the other. We go at the pace of the person who is hurting most. If you do not feel safe with your partner, tell me: this work is not right for every situation, and I will say so and suggest where to look.

  • Who attends: both partners, after one first visit each

  • Method: narrative couples therapy

  • Not a way to assign blame, and not a fit where one of you is afraid of the other

How this is paid

Three questions about this work

Can one of us come alone?

This practice sees couples together. If only one of you is ready, I can suggest where to look for individual therapy.

Do we have to agree on what went wrong?

No. You only have to be willing to sit in the room together. We start from what each of you wants.

What if we are not sure we want to stay together?

That is a fine reason to come. We talk about what each of you wants, with no push toward either answer.

Ready to begin?

Send a message and we will find a time for both of you.
